- Distances
- 42.195 kmplus 21.1 and 10 km
- Marathon cut-off

- East Sea Park
The Danang International Marathon runs along Da Nang’s beachfront. Unlike many Vietnamese races, kit pickup, start and finish are all in the same place: East Sea Park on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, right on the beach. The one thing to plan around: the cut-off is measured by gun time, so where you start in the pens matters.

Ages are counted as of race day. The 10K returns in 2027 after two years off. Its start time comes from the World’s Marathons race listing; the marathon and half marathon times are from the official site. A 5K night run is listed as coming soon, with details not yet announced.
Collect your race kit
Register before 15 December. If you register after 23:59 on 15 December 2026, your name will not be printed on your BIB, your shirt size is not guaranteed and you will start in the final pen. Because the cut-off runs on gun time, starting at the back reduces your real time allowance.
Bring these to East Sea Park:
Your original passport
Your photo ID at the counter.
Your confirmation email
With your BIB number, sent at least seven days before race day.
Your residence card
Your valid temporary residence card, if you registered at the resident rate.
The kit includes your event singlet and race BIB, with bag drop, an e-certificate and post-race food and drink. The finisher medal and finisher T-shirt go to runners who finish within the cut-off; the official kit list shows a finisher T-shirt for both the marathon and the half marathon.
Sponsor gifts are not in the kit; they are handed out at brand booths at the Expo, and partner vouchers come as e-vouchers in the Race Guide.
Because collection is at the start venue, a visit on Friday or Saturday doubles as a recce of race morning: where the pens are, where bag drop is and how long it takes to walk from your hotel.
For your driver: Công viên Biển Đông, Đường Võ Nguyên Giáp, Phường An Hải, Đà Nẵng
Getting to the start line
East Sea Park sits on the beachfront in An Hai Ward, on the east side of the Han River near My Khe Beach.

Walk to the start
Hotels along Vo Nguyen Giap and the beach streets behind it are within walking distance, which is the simplest option for a 03:00 start.
Close to the airport
Da Nang International Airport is about 15–20 minutes by car from the beach.
Grab or Xanh SM
Both operate in Da Nang. Book early on race morning, as roads around the course close before the start.
The course
The course runs along the coast and through the city, with the Han River and its bridges as part of the route. It is essentially flat; the bridges give the only real climbs.
Check the official course map on the distance pages, as the organiser notes that course details may change. After the cut-off, shuttles carry remaining runners back. Runners who decline the shuttle get no further support, and water and medical stations close when roads reopen.
Racing in the heat
Warmand fairly humid, with the sun up early over the sea
Late March in Da Nang is warm and fairly humid, with the sun rising early over the sea. The early starts keep most of the race in the cooler part of the day, but the second half of the marathon will feel the heat. Start conservatively and drink at every station. Read more in Racing in Vietnam 101.
The finish
The finish is back at East Sea Park, with bag drop, post-race food and the Expo in the same area.
Medal and shirt
Medals are awarded only to runners who finish within the cut-off measured by gun time.
E-certificate
Your e-certificate is emailed after the race.
Race photos
Sold separately: 159,000 VND for the marathon and 139,000 VND for the half marathon, bought with your entry or afterwards.
Where to stay
The beachfront between My Khe and East Sea Park is the most convenient: walk to kit collection, walk to the start, walk back after.
The Han River area in the city centre is a short ride across the bridges and has more budget options.
Same weekend, different race. Dalat Ultra Trail runs on 19–21 March 2027 in Da Lat. If you are choosing between them, the Danang race is a flat, fast beach marathon at sea level; Dalat is a mountain trail weekend at about 1,500 m. See our Dalat Ultra Trail guide.
Rules worth knowing before you travel
Most of these are standard. Watch the residence card rule if you live in Vietnam.
Entry fees are not refundable
Not refundable or cancellable under any circumstances.
Run on your own BIB only
Running on another participant’s BIB is prohibited.
Changes and transfers until 15 December
You can change distance or transfer your BIB until 23:59 on 15 December 2026, or until registration closes. Fees: 100,000 VND to change distance, 300,000 VND to transfer. Free entries cannot be changed. Moving to a more expensive distance means paying the difference at current prices; moving down gives no refund.
Resident rates need a valid residence card
Resident rates apply to Vietnamese citizens and foreigners with a residence card valid at both registration and kit collection. If your card has expired by March 2027, you may have to pay the foreigner rate or be unable to collect your BIB.
Bins only
Waste goes only in the bins at East Sea Park, water stations and along the route.
Gun time, not chip time, decides whether you get a medal.
Still to confirm
Show the four open questions
Four details matter to a visiting runner and had not been published when we last checked. The official distance pages are the authority.
| Open question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| 10K cut-off time | Decides how much walking you can afford |
| Detailed 2027 course map and aid station locations | Decides your pacing and fuelling plan |
| Rules for collecting a kit on someone else’s behalf | Matters if you land after Saturday 18:00 |
| Details of the new 5K night run | An extra option for friends and family |
