Mang Den LaLa Trail is the gentler of Mang Den’s two trail races, with a longest distance of 50K, run through the pine forest and mist of the plateau in early spring. The organiser invites runners to slow down and take in the forest rather than count kilometres. The thing to plan around: Mang Den is remote, the weekend starts on Friday, and the 50K needs a 21 km qualifier.

Waiver for young runners

For the 5K, the runner or their legal guardian signs the liability waiver before race day.

Same plateau, different race

Not to be confused with Mang Den Ultra Trail in January, which goes up to 100K.

Kit pickup details will be sent to registered runners. Plan to arrive in Mang Den by Friday 5 March.

Bring two things:

Your passport

For ID at the counter.

Your mandatory gear

Carry the full list for your distance. Gear can be checked on course and at the finish.

Mandatory gear

The list for each distance is on the ticket page. For the 25K and 50K, assume a running vest with water, a waterproof jacket, a phone, a survival blanket and a whistle, and a headtorch if you could be out after dark.

Getting there

Mang Den is on a high plateau in the Central Highlands.

Domestic flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Allow about 2.5–3 hours by road to Mang Den.

Arrive Friday

Give yourself the Friday for kit pickup and rest.

The course

Pine forest, lakes and mist.

The courses run through the pine forests, lakes and villages of the Mang Den plateau. The organiser frames it as a journey to enjoy rather than a race against the clock, but the 50K still has real climbing. Course maps are on the ticket page.

Early March is the dry season in Mang Den. Mornings are cool and misty, days warm and sunny. Trails are usually dry and dusty.

Where to stay
